Craving for vegemite

This is the one of the staple Koala Land breakfast. The other is Weetbix. I had never tasted Weetbix before as it looked like compressed sawdust but for whole June I had cravings for Vegemite toast.

Boss said that I am becoming a true blue Koalander. Sorry to disillusion you Boss, I have been eating vegemite since I was in my nappies. We call it Marmite or Bovril. You can cook a lot of things with vegemite - porridge, chicken, pork or just toast. I really don't know why vegemite of all things but you really can't explain cravings. A vegemite toast cost $5.00 from downstairs cafe. It is better than robbery. I bought it once and wow never to buy from there again. Uncle will have a heart attack if he knew I paid $5.00 for a vegemite toast when we have a jar of vegemite, a loaf of bread, butter and toaster at home.

One cannot explain the taste of vegemite with the basic sweet, sour, salty, bitter taste. It is a mixture of tastes and it is known as umami taste - Japanese invention. I always say english language lacks adjectives.

Every other day, I will eat a vegemite toast for dinner. It's not because my craving only comes at night. It is mainly because I can't be bothered to wake up early to make vegemite toast. Morning time is for brushing teeth, change, grab stuff and rush to train station.

Lucky craving is appeased for now. How come I never heard of man having food cravings?
